Bengaluru witnessed a startling incident as Avalahalli police successfully apprehended a 44-year-old Head Constable and his accomplice, an autorickshaw driver, on charges of robbing a woman.
The investigation revealed that the autorickshaw driver, identified as Jagadisha, allegedly assaulted his female friend and forcefully took her gold chain following a financial disagreement. Subsequently, he handed over the stolen ornament to Satyan, a Head Constable stationed at D.J. Halli police station.
Satyan then reportedly pawned the gold chain, splitting the proceeds with Jagadisha. However, the victim promptly reported the incident to the police, initiating a swift response from law enforcement.
Acting on the complaint, authorities moved quickly to arrest Jagadisha, which led to the subsequent apprehension of Head Constable Satyan. The stolen gold chain was successfully recovered from the pawn shop.
Both individuals have since been remanded to judicial custody. A detailed report regarding the incident has been forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, East Division, for further necessary action against the involved police official.
