In a crucial directive, AICC in-charge for Telangana, Meenakshi Natarajan, has called upon all party members to intensify their efforts and finalize the ‘Vote Chori’ (Vote Theft) signature campaign by the upcoming deadline of October 15. Natarajan stressed the importance of ensuring this signature drive reaches every single village, urging District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents, MLAs, and other prominent Congress leaders to personally oversee and guarantee its successful execution.
The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) recently convened an online meeting to strategize on this significant All India Congress Committee (AICC) initiative, which aims to gather public support against alleged electoral irregularities. During the meeting, TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud acknowledged that adverse weather conditions, specifically heavy rainfall in certain regions, had caused a minor setback in the campaign’s progress. However, he reaffirmed the AICC’s strong commitment to the program. Goud mandated that party leaders must ensure the collection of signatures from a minimum of 100 individuals in every village, reiterating the October 15th deadline.
Furthermore, Goud seized the opportunity to highlight broader concerns about what he described as widespread ‘vote theft’ across the nation. He controversially claimed that the ruling BJP government had secured its third term through such alleged malpractices. Critically, he also accused the Election Commission of India of bias, asserting that it operates as an extension of the BJP. Goud stated that despite the Congress party presenting concrete evidence of vote theft, the Election Commission has failed to provide any satisfactory response or take action.
