Government Whips Aadi Srinivas and Beerla Ilaiah didn’t mince words, strongly condemning the Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) “Congress Debt (Baaki) Card” campaign. They dismissed it as a deceptive tactic designed solely to gain political advantage in the upcoming local body elections.
The Congress MLAs pointed out that they too could expose the BRS’s many failures and deceptions during its time in power, urging the BRS leadership to first introspect on their own shortcomings.
This strong rebuke came after the BRS launched its “Congress Dues Card” on Saturday, a state-wide campaign intended to highlight what it termed the numerous unfulfilled promises of the current Congress government in Telangana.
During a press conference held on Saturday, Aadi Srinivas stated, “With K. Kavitha causing internal political chaos and the BRS leadership struggling to answer her questions, they are now resorting to these theatrical antics.”
Srinivas further elaborated that the BRS, when in power, catastrophically failed to meet the public’s expectations. “Not only that,” he added, “they plunged the state into a staggering ₹8 lakh crore debt trap through irresponsible borrowing.” He also accused the former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s government of misleading the public by failing to deliver on key pledges, such as appointing a Dalit Chief Minister.
He didn’t stop there, also accusing BRS leaders of widespread corruption and plundering state resources under the guise of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP).
“Their fear of losing their deposits in the upcoming local body elections is precisely why they are staging this new drama,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, Mr. Beerla Ilaiah remarked that Mr. K.T. Rama Rao’s “Congress Debt Card” was nothing but a new act aimed at maliciously discrediting the Congress government. He highlighted, “Despite the significant financial hurdles created by the previous BRS administration, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy remains committed to implementing the six guarantees.”
