To celebrate World Diabetes Day 2025, the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMC) Vellore warmly invites school students and teachers to participate in a series of engaging competitions. These events, designed to raise awareness about diabetes and promote healthy living, will be held at Darling Residency in Vellore from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 18th.
School students are encouraged to express their thoughts and creativity through an essay writing competition. The compelling topic provided is: "Healthy Habits Today; Healthy Life Tomorrow – The Role of Parents and Teachers in Preventing Diabetes and Obesity in Children." This theme aims to highlight the crucial role of adults in shaping children’s health futures.
For those with a flair for visual arts, a painting competition will also be held. Participants can explore the theme: "Technology and Humanity – Partnership for Better Health." This topic encourages creative interpretations of how innovation and human connection can advance well-being.
Teachers aren’t left out, with a stimulating quiz prepared just for them. The quiz will cover a broad range of subjects including Nobel prizes, sports, general knowledge, general health, and general science, promising a fun yet educational challenge. Esteemed personality George Chandy, former Director of CMC, will grace the occasion as the chief guest.
