A festive gathering in Temki village, Latehar district, Jharkhand, took a concerning turn when a suspected food poisoning incident led to the hospitalization of at least 35 children. The youngsters, aged between two and fifteen, fell ill after consuming chowmein from a food stall at a village fair held on Wednesday evening, September 17, 2025.
According to officials, the children were rushed to Sadar Hospital via ambulance between 9:30 PM and 10:00 PM with symptoms including vomiting, severe abdominal pain, and dehydration. Dr. Jaiprakash, a child specialist at the hospital, confirmed the cases were due to food poisoning.
“The condition of all children is now stable,” stated Dr. Jaiprakash, reassuring the public. “They are expected to be discharged from the hospital soon, and the necessary procedures for their release have already begun.”
