Union Minister Chirag Paswan recently drew a striking comparison, stating that Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor’s political strategies bear a strong resemblance to those of Aam Aadmi Party’s Arvind Kejriwal.
Addressing the press, the Lok Janshakti (Ram Vilas) president highlighted how Kejriwal, much like Kishor, frequently leveled various accusations during his initial political ascent, only to become quiet once he assumed the role of Delhi’s Chief Minister.
“Prashant Kishor has been relentlessly unleashing one allegation after another,” Paswan remarked when asked about the Jan Suraaj Party founder’s consistent attacks on prominent NDA leaders in Bihar. He emphasized, “Only a thorough investigation can truly determine if his accusations are based on concrete facts or are merely unfounded slander.”
Earlier, Kishor held a press conference where he alleged that senior BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary was implicated in a 1995 murder case. Kishor claimed Choudhary avoided trial by presenting a document asserting he was a minor at the time of the alleged crime.
Furthermore, Kishor asserted that an affidavit filed by Choudhary during his election to the State Legislative Council contradicted his earlier court submission, proving it false. Based on this, Kishor demanded Choudhary’s dismissal and imprisonment.
Paswan, however, dismissed Kishor’s actions as a familiar political tactic. He likened it to a pattern observed in Delhi, where a certain Aam Aadmi Party leader made numerous allegations against powerful figures, only to grow quiet once he became Chief Minister.
“Regardless, I am confident that those facing these allegations in Bihar are entirely capable of defending themselves,” the Union Minister affirmed. He pointed out that “one individual has already issued a defamation notice, and eventually, the truth will come to light.”
This statement alluded to Minister Ashok Choudhary, a national general secretary of the JD(U), who had recently served Kishor with a defamation notice after being publicly accused of involvement in benami land transactions totaling an astonishing ₹200 crore.
This wasn’t their first clash. Choudhary had previously sued Kishor months prior, alleging that Kishor falsely claimed he bribed Paswan to secure a parliamentary ticket for his daughter, Shambhavi, who currently serves as the LJP(RV) MP from Samastipur.
During Monday’s press conference, the Jan Suraaj Party founder intensified his opposition to Choudhary, issuing a stern warning: he threatened to unveil “corrupt deals amounting to an additional ₹500 crore” unless the minister publicly retracted his legal notice.
