Good news for air travelers! China Eastern Airlines is set to resume its round-trip flights connecting Shanghai and New Delhi starting November 9. This move is a positive step towards normalizing ties between India and China.
This exciting development follows an earlier announcement by both nations to re-establish direct flights between key cities, marking the end of a five-year pause. The decision was made during a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Tianjin earlier this year.
The Shanghai-New Delhi route will be active three times a week: on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Flight Schedule Details:
- Outbound (Shanghai to New Delhi): Departs from Shanghai Pudong Airport at 12:50 PM, arriving at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 5:45 PM (local time).
- Return (New Delhi to Shanghai): Departs from Delhi at 7:55 PM, arriving at Shanghai Pudong Airport at 4:10 AM the following day.
Tickets for this route are already available for purchase, with the first flights scheduled to take off next month.
