Authorities in Vijayawada are deeply involved in a shocking murder investigation concerning a 65-year-old woman, identified as P. Vijayalakshmi, who was brutally killed in Urmila Nagar, Bhavanipuram. A 45-year-old man stands as the prime suspect in this horrific case, with preliminary findings pointing towards deeply rooted family disputes as the likely motive.
Police officials have revealed the gruesome details of the crime: the accused allegedly dismembered Ms. Vijayalakshmi’s body, scattering her head, hands, legs, and torso across various sites. Prompt action by the Bhavanipuram police has led to the apprehension of two individuals for questioning, who are now assisting with the ongoing inquiry. West Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police, N.S.V.K. Durga Rao, confirmed that all body parts have since been meticulously recovered from the different disposal locations.
Investigators currently believe the heinous act took place approximately two days prior to discovery. It is suspected that the perpetrator sedated his aunt (the victim, his mother’s sister) before committing the murder, then proceeded to dismember her body and dispose of the remains in a nearby drainage and other concealed spots.
“We are thoroughly examining all potential motives behind this brutal murder,” stated Mr. Durga Rao on Sunday. “The case is being investigated from every conceivable angle to ensure justice is served.”
