Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is preparing for a significant visit to Pulivendula this December. This constituency holds particular importance as it’s the stronghold of YSRCP president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
While the final itinerary is still being finalized, district officials confirm that Pulivendula is firmly on the Chief Minister’s provisional schedule for his tour of Kadapa district.
A major highlight of the visit will be the formal inauguration of the long-awaited water grid project, slated for completion by December 15. This initiative promises to deliver essential drinking water to every household in Pulivendula municipality. Beyond development, Chief Minister Naidu will also immerse himself in the local culture by attending the cherished annual Gandikota festival.
A Strategic Morale Boost for TDP
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is seizing this opportunity, pulling out all the stops to ensure a grand reception. The aim is clear: to significantly uplift the morale of its dedicated cadre in the region.
Mareddy Ravindranath Reddy, affectionately known as ‘B.Tech’ Ravi and the TDP’s in-charge for the Pulivendula constituency, is riding high on the recent success of his wife, Mareddy Latha Reddy, who was elected as a Pulivendula ZPTC member. Now, his ambition is firmly set on winning the municipality back from the YSRCP.
Even with municipal elections still on the horizon, the TDP has proactively begun extending invitations to neutral citizens and even to disgruntled members of the YSRCP, encouraging them to join the party.
Addressing the gathering on Friday, as he welcomed numerous educated and neutral residents from Y.S. Raja Reddy Street into the party, Mr. Ravi highlighted the long-standing issues. “This municipality, despite having given two Chief Ministers to our state, has continuously suffered from a severe drinking water crisis. It is finally the TDP-led NDA government that has resolved this decades-old problem,” he stated.
This marks the third such outreach event within just ten days, reflecting the party’s intensified efforts to draw in undecided voters. TDP workers are meticulously compiling ward-wise lists to pinpoint influential individuals and neutral citizens who might be swayed to join their ranks.
Mr. Ravi further commented on the opposition, observing, “The YSRCP leadership appears taken aback by this growing exodus, and they are now actively attempting to placate their second-tier leaders, urging them to remain within the party.”
