A scene of significant confusion and agitation unfolded at a multiplex cinema in Belagavi on Sunday when the screening of the highly anticipated film, “Kantara Chapter 1,” suffered a delay of more than an hour.
Movie enthusiasts, who had arrived for the 3:30 p.m. show at Nucleus Mall, grew increasingly restless as the clock ticked past 4:45 p.m. with no sign of the film beginning.
Their patience worn thin, patrons began vociferously demanding immediate refunds for their tickets. The situation quickly escalated as they surrounded the ticket collection office, directing their frustrations and shouts at the cinema manager.
The palpable tension in the air remained high, even after the manager assured the crowd that full refunds would be issued.
Ultimately, local police authorities were called to the scene to help de-escalate the volatile situation and bring the agitated crowd under control. Eventually, with refunds processed, the frustrated movie-goers gradually dispersed from the premises.
