Ramesh Bandisidde Gowda, Chairman of the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), recently urged everyone to actively support the government’s initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting the beautiful Kannada language.
During the Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrations at the CESC head office in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage on Saturday, Gowda eloquently described Karnataka as a land of spiritual significance, considering birth here a profound blessing.
He voiced a significant concern: if the use of Kannada, our cherished mother tongue, is confined solely to our homes and not integrated into daily operations within government offices, there’s a real danger of it fading from memory and being replaced by English.
“Despite our pride in Kannada, we often neglect its use in our professional lives,” he observed. He emphasized that while acquiring other languages is crucial for expanding global knowledge, it must never come at the cost of forgetting our mother tongue.
Adding to this, K.M. Munigopal Raju, CESC’s Managing Director, highlighted that every professional environment presents its unique set of challenges and opportunities. He firmly believes that “by working collaboratively as a team, we can consistently achieve outstanding results.”
Raju proudly noted that CESC’s various projects and operational efficiency have set a benchmark, standing out as exemplary when compared to other power supply corporations.
He further revealed that CESC has embarked on a series of significant reforms and has successfully acquired 32 Civic Amenity (CA) sites for the construction of its own dedicated offices, with work already actively in progress.
The celebrations began with a traditional touch as the CESC Chairman, the Managing Director, and other esteemed officials paid their respects by offering floral tributes to the portrait of Goddess Bhuvaneshwari.
Notable attendees included Chief Financial Officer G. Renuka, Chief General Manager (Technical) Sharanamma S. Jangin, Chief General Manager (Internal Audit) Lingarajamma, General Manager (HR and Administration) B.R. Roopa, Superintendent of Police (Jagrit Dal) Savita Hoogar, General Manager (Procurement) L. Lokesh, General Manager (IT & MIS) Ramaswamy, along with many other dedicated officers.
