The Central University of Karnataka proudly announces that its esteemed Registrar, Dr. R. R. Biradar, has been bestowed with the coveted Best Teacher Gem Award. This prestigious honor was presented by the Karnataka State Educational Institutions Teachers Association, Bengaluru, recognizing his profound impact on the academic community.
The ceremony took place at the Karnataka Arts College in Bengaluru on Sunday, marking a significant moment in Dr. Biradar’s distinguished career.
Dr. Biradar is not only an accomplished academic but also a prolific researcher, having recently earned his second Ph.D. in Public Economics from Mangalore University.
His impressive publication record includes four books, three monographs, and a remarkable 107 research papers published in esteemed journals. Furthermore, he has shared his expertise by presenting over 120 papers at various national and international seminars and conferences.
Beyond academic circles, Dr. Biradar has also engaged the wider public, contributing more than 70 popular articles to leading newspapers.
Throughout his career, Dr. Biradar has spearheaded 13 successful research projects and delivered over 150 special and invited lectures, influencing audiences at both state and national levels.
His exceptional academic and research endeavors have garnered numerous accolades. These include the Kalyana Karnataka Kautilya Award (2025) from the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Jewargi Taluk; the Guru Shreshta Award (2021) from ISBR Business School, Bengaluru; the prestigious Prof. T. S. Papola Merit Award (2019) from the Indian Economic Association; and the Dr. S.T. Nadibewoor Best Researcher Gold Medal (2018) from Karnatak University, Dharwad.
Earlier in his career, he was honored with the Indo-China Cultural Exchange Fellowship (2007) from ICSSR, New Delhi; the Sir Ratan Tata Visiting Fellowship (2006) from the Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bengaluru; and the Sanjay Thakur Young Labour Economist Award (2005) from the Indian Society of Labour Economics, New Delhi.
Further acknowledging his significant contributions to the field of economics, the Karnataka State government appointed Dr. Biradar as a non-official member of the Karnataka State Policy and Planning Commission from 2020 to 2023.
