The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kottayam proudly hosted its seventh annual convocation ceremony on Saturday, a day dedicated to celebrating the remarkable achievements of its graduating class. A total of 328 students were honored, including 279 bright BTech scholars, 43 accomplished MTech postgraduates, and six pioneering PhD researchers, all of whom received their well-deserved certificates.
The prestigious event was graced by V. Narayanan, the distinguished Secretary of the Department of Space and Chairman of both the Space Commission and ISRO, who served as the Chief Guest. Guiding the ceremony was Vijayalakshmi Deshmane, the esteemed Chairperson of the Board of Governors. Notable attendees also included IIIT Kottayam’s Director (in-charge) Prasad Krishna and Registrar M. Radhakrishnan, with Jijo G. John, CEO of Calpine Group, joining as the honorable Guest of Honour.
Academic excellence was recognized with gold medals awarded to outstanding students. In the M.Tech (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) program, Ijas A. H. and Abhishek Suman achieved this top honor. For M.Tech (Cyber Security), Salini K. S. and Sreelakshmi K. S. were celebrated with the highest accolades, while Saju S. proudly earned a gold medal in the M.Tech (Big Data and Machine Learning) program.
Among the graduating B.Tech cohort, Konyala Anish Reddy and Keerthana Menon distinguished themselves as the top students in Computer Science and Engineering. S. J. Satish Kumar and Rohith George Ninan excelled in Electronics and Communication Engineering, leading their respective field. Furthermore, Zende Akhilesh Prafulla and Aditya Kumar Raushan were lauded as the best performers in the Cyber Security specialization.
