Prominent Bharat Rasthra Samithi (BRS) legislators, K.P. Vivekanand and Shambhipur (Sunkari) Raju, have publicly voiced their bewilderment regarding the current political maneuvers and ideological stance of the MIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen). They highlight a perceived inconsistency where the MIM appears to be indirectly assisting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Bihar Assembly elections by fielding its candidates, yet simultaneously extending support to the Congress party in Telangana.
The BRS leaders specifically pointed out the MIM’s decision not to contest the by-election for the Jubilee Hills Assembly seat and instead endorse the ruling Congress. This move, they contend, has thoroughly perplexed the public. They recalled that the MIM leadership had been a vocal critic of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy even after the State Assembly elections, making their current support for him, seemingly as a ‘savior,’ all the more puzzling.
Furthermore, Vivekanand and Raju launched a scathing attack on the Congress government in the State, accusing its Cabinet members of being engaged in a race to accumulate wealth through commissions on various public works and contracts. They contrasted this with the previous K. Chandrasekhar government, which they claimed had elevated Telangana to a leading state in maintaining law and order, generating over 7 lakh private sector jobs, and significantly upgrading infrastructure. In sharp contrast, they alleged, the current Congress administration is resorting to coercion and threats against contractors to extract money.
