HYDERABAD: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has officially filed a strong complaint with the Election Commission, alleging that the ruling Congress party engaged in a calculated scheme to win the Jubilee Hills by-election using fraudulent, fake, and duplicate votes. The detailed complaint was presented to Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharshan Reddy.
K.T. Rama Rao, the BRS Working President, personally met with the CEO on Monday, accompanied by prominent party members including D. Sudheer Reddy, K. Venkatesh Yadav, M. Gopal, V. Prashanth Reddy, P. Kaushik Reddy, D. Sravan, R.S. Praveen Kumar, and M. Krishank. Their complaint included extensive lists of voter names that appeared multiple times in the electoral rolls, as well as specific booth numbers where over 30 voters were registered at a single address.
The BRS delegation highlighted that the majority of these duplicate and fictitious voters were linked to addresses associated with V. Naveen Yadav, the Congress candidate. They questioned the diligence of booth-level officers (BLOs) in allowing such widespread irregularities. Mr. Rama Rao specifically urged the CEO to meticulously review the voter lists and promptly remove all fraudulent or duplicate entries.
Following his meeting with the CEO, Mr. Rama Rao warned that the BRS would pursue legal action if the Election Commission failed to adequately rectify the Jubilee Hills constituency’s voter list. He accused the ruling Congress of resorting to extensive unethical practices to secure victory in the by-election at all costs.
He further alleged that the Congress was employing every tactic imaginable—from persuasion and division to outright coercion—to manipulate the by-election’s outcome. “Every member of the Revanth Reddy Cabinet has descended upon Jubilee Hills, blatantly misusing official machinery and government resources,” Mr. Rama Rao asserted.
Providing more specific examples of the alleged voter list manipulation, he revealed that the BRS had, to date, identified at least 20,000 duplicate and fake votes within the Jubilee Hills constituency. Across approximately 400 polling booths, an average of 50 fraudulent votes per booth were reportedly registered. Rama Rao also criticized AICC leader Rahul Gandhi, stating that while Gandhi frequently spoke about ‘vote chori’ (vote theft) in Bihar, he appeared remarkably indifferent to similar concerns in Telangana’s Jubilee Hills constituency.
