As the monsoon rains finally clear and dry weather settles in, the people of Telangana should prepare for a noticeable drop in temperatures. Winter is officially making its entrance, bringing with it colder evenings that will become more pronounced as the weeks progress.
November’s Chill: Colder Nights Ahead
According to Mr. Rama Rao, a senior meteorologist, “With no major cyclonic systems on the horizon, we anticipate only isolated rainfall. The season is actively transitioning into winter, and we expect significantly colder conditions from the third week of November, with the chilliest period arriving in December. Temperatures are forecast to begin their downward trend starting next week.”
Nighttime minimum temperatures, currently hovering around 22°C, are projected to dip to a cooler 17–20°C. Daytime maximums, presently 32–33°C, will likely settle between 29–32°C. This shift is primarily due to the receding cloud cover and increasingly dry atmospheric conditions.
Northern Telangana: The Coldest Pockets
Residents in Northern Telangana, particularly districts like Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Karimnagar, should anticipate even colder conditions. These regions are naturally more susceptible to lower temperatures than others, including the capital city of Hyderabad, largely due to their unique topography and the influence of easterly winds. While occasional cold spells are expected when westerly winds intensify, the overall winter season is predicted to be moderate.
