The Bombay High Court experienced its second bomb scare within a single week on Friday, September 19, 2025. An official confirmed that an email threatening a bomb blast on the court premises in South Mumbai was sent to the institution’s official ID early in the morning. However, following a comprehensive search by the bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) and dog teams, no suspicious items were found, and the threat was ultimately deemed a hoax.
The court resumed its operations as per its normal schedule after the all-clear was given. This incident follows a similar email threat received on September 12, which had previously caused the suspension of court hearings for several hours while security protocols were enacted. Police authorities had registered a case against unknown individuals in connection with that earlier incident.
