Bihar Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Dilip Jaiswal has strongly criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), labeling them as makers of “empty promises” that hold “no importance.” This strong statement comes after an RJD leader suggested that Tejashwi Yadav, if elected Chief Minister, would “scrap the Waqf law.” Jaiswal emphasized that the people of Bihar have lost faith in such promise-mongers.
Highlighting the progress of Bihar, Jaiswal stated that the state is developing under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, a sentiment echoed by Union Minister Amit Shah. He asserted that Bihar’s development is being meticulously built from the ground up.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Dinesh Sharma expressed high confidence in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) securing a significant victory, predicting more than a two-thirds majority in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. He also projected that the opposition Mahagathbandhan would struggle to cross the three-digit mark in seat count.
Sharma further commented on Tejashwi Yadav’s announcement as the Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial candidate, suggesting that Yadav’s elation would be short-lived, as he believes the alliance would not achieve a majority and would fall short of reaching triple digits.
The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections are set up as a direct contest between the NDA (comprising BJP, JD(U), LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM (Secular), and RLM) and the Mahagathbandhan (led by RJD, including Congress and Left parties). Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party has also announced its intention to contest all 243 seats.
The elections are scheduled to take place in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with the vote counting set for November 14.
