The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its criticism of Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, this time focusing on an alleged “2-acre, 7-star mansion” being prepared in Chandigarh’s Sector 2. The BJP released a satellite image of the property, asserting it is a government bungalow constructed from Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann’s “quota” for Kejriwal.
In a post on X, the BJP’s Delhi unit described the alleged bungalow as “another grand Sheesh Mahal,” suggesting Kejriwal, who had previously been criticized for a similar lavish residence in Delhi, now has an even more opulent one in Chandigarh. They referred to Kejriwal as Punjab’s “super CM,” implying undue influence over the state government.
Punjab BJP leaders echoed these sentiments, labeling the alleged bungalow Kejriwal’s “new royal palace.” They accused the Punjab government of acting as “Kejriwal’s personal service team,” allegedly misusing taxpayer money while the state grapples with issues like drug abuse, unemployment, and corruption.
Further allegations from the BJP claimed that Kejriwal used a Punjab government helicopter and the state’s private jet to travel to Gujarat for political campaigning, rather than for Punjab’s welfare. AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal also reportedly supported these claims, stating that the “entire Punjab government is engaged in serving one man.” Maliwal also questioned the AAP’s attempt to label the property a “camp office,” demanding transparency on its usage and questioning how Kejriwal could be residing there if it were merely an office. She asserted that “Punjab’s super CM resides in this house.”
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has refuted these allegations, stating that a comprehensive statement from the party in Delhi would be released soon.
