Telangana’s BJP faction has launched a strong accusation against the reigning Congress party, claiming they are deliberately misleading the public regarding their chosen candidate for the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election. The BJP highlights that the individual in question previously contested under the banner of the Majlis Party and, they allege, still maintains ties to that group.
Addressing the media at the State office on Monday, BJP party president N. Ramchander Rao challenged these seemingly deceptive tactics. “There’s a significant cloud of uncertainty surrounding who will truly represent Jubilee Hills – will it be the Congress, the AIMIM, or perhaps an AIMIM candidate running with a Congress symbol?” he questioned.
Rao emphasized that this confusion stems from the fact that the current Congress candidate previously ran as an AIMIM candidate. He further claimed that after securing the Congress ticket, the candidate immediately visited the AIMIM chief, humbly seeking blessings. “This clearly indicates that the candidate endorsed by the Congress is, in fact, still loyal to AIMIM,” Rao asserted.
Mr. Rao stated that the BJP’s official candidate would be announced once approved by the Parliamentary Board, which could happen at any moment. He noted that with the government contemplating approaching the Supreme Court regarding the 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs), the by-election is currently drawing significant attention. These remarks came after a session where numerous professionals and educated individuals were welcomed into the party.
Earlier, the former MLC pledged to invigorate the party from its core, reaching every village and household, with the ultimate goal of seizing power in the next elections within 100 days of his presidency. He underscored that BJP workers form the bedrock of the party and reiterated his dedication to fostering strong connections with them.
In a separate but equally sharp exchange, chief spokesperson N.V. Subhash delivered a biting response to recent remarks by BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). Subhash confidently declared that the BRS party has lost its credibility and relevance in Telangana. “The BRS vehicle has broken down completely and has been permanently consigned to the shed. The people have unequivocally spoken – they’ve sent it to the scrapyard,” he quipped, dismissing the BRS’s future prospects.
