The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has officially released its fourth list of candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, bringing the total number of announced candidates to 132. This latest list includes 12 new names vying for seats across the state.
Key among the new nominations are Kumar Kunal for the Madhuban constituency, Brij Bhushan (Navin) for Sapaul, and Anil Kumar for Gaya Town.
The party had previously announced its third list of 50 candidates on October 18. The AAP is participating in the Bihar polls independently, opting out of any pre-poll alliances.
The Bihar Assembly elections will be conducted in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with the results scheduled to be announced on November 14. In related political developments, the opposition’s ‘Mahagathbandhan’ alliance has reportedly faced internal discussions and disagreements, failing to finalize its seat-sharing arrangements even as the nomination deadline for the second phase approaches on October 20.
Other parties are also making their election strategies clear. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has declared it will contest the elections solo. Meanwhile, the Congress party has released its second list of candidates amid seat-sharing discussions within the Mahagathbandhan, having previously announced its first list of 48 candidates on October 17.
On the alliance front, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has communicated its seat distribution plan. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has confirmed its candidates for all 101 seats allocated to them within the NDA’s arrangement. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to commence his election campaign on October 24.
