Patna: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Bihar election co-incharge Keshav Prasad Maurya has asserted that Nitish Kumar will continue as the Chief Minister of Bihar following the upcoming Assembly polls. He dismissed the announcements made by the Mahagathbandhan as “fake,” stating, “The announcements of the Mahagathbandhan are fake… Nitish Kumar will return as the Chief Minister of Bihar on 14th November. The Mahagathbandhan is being wiped out…”
Earlier, Janata Dal (United) leader Arun Kumar expressed confidence in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) securing a two-thirds majority. He highlighted that the people of Bihar favor a government committed to positivity and development, emphasizing that the “caravan of PM Modi and Nitish Kumar should keep moving.”
These political statements follow remarks by Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) National President Mukesh Sahni, who questioned Nitish Kumar’s suitability for leadership due to health concerns and suggested voters consider younger politicians. Sahni noted a perceived “wave of change” in the state.
The 2025 Bihar Elections are shaping up to be a contest between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which includes the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha, and the Mahagathbandhan, led by RJD and comprising the Congress, CPI-ML, CPI, CPM, and VIP. Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj has also laid claim to all 243 seats.
The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled for November 6 and 11, with results expected on November 14.
