The Bigg Boss Kannada (BBK) Season 12 studio, operated by Vels Studios and Entertainment Pvt Ltd, has officially reopened. Bengaluru South district authorities lifted the seal on the premises in the early hours of Thursday, October 9, 2025, following a decisive intervention by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
The studio had been temporarily sealed on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, after being found in violation of critical environmental norms. The closure, initiated by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), was due to the studio operating without the necessary licenses, contravening regulations set by both the Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal (NGT).
The situation had created significant uncertainty regarding the fate of the popular reality show’s ongoing season, leading to the temporary relocation of all participants to a private resort in Bidadi. However, the crisis was swiftly resolved when Deputy CM Shivakumar publicly announced his directive to the Bengaluru South District Commissioner to remove the seal.
In a statement shared on social media, Shivakumar emphasized that while environmental compliance remains a top priority, the studio would be granted a reasonable timeframe to rectify all identified violations in accordance with KSPCB standards. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the vibrant Kannada entertainment industry while upholding the state’s environmental protection responsibilities.
Studio Reopened in the Early Morning Hours
Sources indicate that district officials, accompanied by KSPCB representatives and police personnel, arrived at the studio around 3 AM on October 9, 2025, to facilitate its reopening.
Following this positive development, actor Kichcha Sudeepa, the show’s esteemed host, publicly expressed his gratitude to Deputy CM Shivakumar for his timely support and intervention, acknowledging the swift resolution to the matter.
