Horses such as Excellent Lass, Mister Brown, Glorious Strides, Sunshine, and Rieko truly shone, indicating their readiness for upcoming challenges.
Inner Sand Workouts
On the inner sand, horses demonstrated their speed and stamina:
- 600m: Aquastic (with Salman K) and Mnemosyne (under Asirvatham) proved they are in ‘fine trim’ with strong runs, clocking 40.5 seconds.
- 1000m: Steffen, guided by Rozario, strode out exceptionally well, completing the distance in 1 minute and 6.5 seconds, with a 600m split of 39 seconds. Royal Jewel (Girish) moved effortlessly on the bit, recording 1 minute 8.5 seconds (600m in 40.5s). Flight Of Fantasy (R. Pradeep) stretched out well, finishing in 1 minute 9 seconds (600m in 39s).
- 1200m: Rieko, with Suraj in the saddle, delivered a ‘good display,’ covering the distance in 1 minute 21 seconds, including a 1000m split of 1 minute 7 seconds and a 600m split of 39.5 seconds.
Outer Sand Performances
The outer sand track also saw some remarkable performances:
- 600m: Spirit Dancer (rb) strode out well in 44 seconds. Jolie’s Star (Rushal) and Ladyness (P. Mani) finished neck and neck, both clocking 44 seconds. Power Of Beauty (Antony) completed an ‘easy’ run in 43.5 seconds.
- 1000m: Blue Picasso (Antony) moved impressively in 1 minute 14.5 seconds (600m in 44s). Striking Viking (Rayan) stretched out, finishing in 1 minute 15 seconds (600m in 43s). Final Call (rb) moved ‘on the bit’ in 1 minute 14.5 seconds (600m in 46s). In a notable pairing, Cashable (Suraj) finished a commanding eight lengths ahead of Imperial Star (Kiran Rai), both clocking 1 minute 13 seconds (600m in 42.5s). Excellent Lass (Suraj) gave a ‘fine display’ with a time of 1 minute 15.5 seconds (600m in 41s).

The gate practice sessions also highlighted promising talent over 1200m:
