Parappana Agarahara police have apprehended three private firm employees following a late-night incident where they reportedly assaulted an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and a police Constable. The confrontation arose after the officers requested them to cease creating a public nuisance, which was disturbing nearby residents.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Aditya (27), Suvin Kumar (27), and Vishal Sameer (25). They face multiple charges under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, 2023, including voluntarily causing hurt (Section 115), voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt to a public servant to prevent them from performing their duty (Section 121), voluntarily obstructing any person (Section 126), criminal intimidation (Section 351), assaulting or using criminal force against a public servant while performing their duty (Section 132), and intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace (Section 352).
The incident unfolded on Saturday night when ASI Ravi V., accompanied by Police Constable Shivakumar, was on routine patrol. At approximately 11:45 p.m., they received a complaint from a resident of Silicon Town, Doddanagamangala village, reporting a loud and disruptive party at a neighbor’s house. Upon arriving at the location, a second-floor residence, ASI Ravi advised the occupants to lower the noise to respect their neighbors’ peace.
However, the three individuals inside the house reacted aggressively. Instead of complying, they confronted the officers, demanding to know the identity of the complainant. Despite ASI Ravi’s attempts to de-escalate the situation, the accused grew increasingly agitated, verbally abused the officers, and physically assaulted them. During the melee, Mr. Shivakumar’s uniform was torn. He promptly contacted the control room for backup, and additional patrolling staff swiftly arrived. The unruly individuals were then taken into custody and transported to the police station, where a medical examination was conducted to determine if they were under the influence of drugs.
