Bengaluru police in the Tilaknagar area have officially registered a First Information Report (FIR) against a Head of Department at a local private college. The charges stem from a distressing complaint of sexual harassment lodged by a female student, following an incident that occurred on October 2, 2025, when she was invited to the HOD’s residence.
According to the complaint filed by the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) student, the accused, identified as Sanjeev Kumar Mondal, extended an invitation for lunch at his home, claiming his family would be present.
However, upon her arrival, the student reportedly found Mondal to be alone. She quickly grew uneasy and declined his offer of refreshments.
It is alleged that Mondal then informed the student of an attendance shortage and, while offering to help her secure full attendance and good grades, began to touch her inappropriately.
Startled and distressed by the turn of events, the student received a timely phone call from a friend. Seizing the opportunity, she cited an emergency and swiftly left the premises, returning home where she recounted her traumatic experience to her parents. They promptly escalated the matter to the college administration before formally reporting it to the police.
As a result of her courageous complaint, Sanjeev Kumar Mondal has been charged with sexual harassment, and a thorough investigation is now underway.
