Good news for Ballari! The long-anticipated 450-bed Super Speciality Hospital is officially slated for inauguration this December. This exciting announcement came from Medical Education, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood Minister Sharan Prakash Patil during his recent visit.
Minister Patil personally inspected the extensive ongoing work at the hospital, located near Sudha Cross. He confirmed that this ambitious project, which faced significant delays since its initial sanction in 2008 before being revitalized in 2018, is now nearing completion, entering its crucial final phase.
During his inspection, Dr. Patil urged officials to accelerate efforts, stating that “approximately 97% of the first phase and 96% of the second phase are already complete.” He emphasized the critical need to finalize all remaining tasks, particularly electrical installations, by the end of November to ensure the hospital’s timely public opening in December.
The new facility is poised to offer state-of-the-art medical services with advanced departments, including cardiology, plastic surgery, neurology, and dedicated dialysis units, all set to become operational soon. Furthermore, Dr. Patil revealed plans for a comprehensive 26-acre cancer hospital within the same campus, with its detailed project report already finalized and awaiting necessary approvals.
Earlier on Wednesday, Minister Patil also made time to inaugurate the Incubation and Job Portal Centre of the Ballari District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BDCCI). There, he highlighted the vital importance of integrating skill-based education with traditional academic learning. His busy schedule also included a visit to the Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC) near Radio Park, where he personally assessed its current facilities.
Key officials accompanying the Minister throughout his engagements included Mohammad Mohsin, Principal Secretary for Medical Education; Sujata Rathod, Director of Medical Education; Nagendra Prasad K., Deputy Commissioner; and Mohammad Haris Sumair, Zilla Panchayat CEO.
