Yoga and spiritual leader Baba Ramdev has issued a powerful call to action for Indians, urging them to embrace the spirit of ‘swadeshi’ by prioritizing locally made products, especially as the festive season of Diwali approaches.
Ramdev highlighted India’s position as the “world’s largest market,” while also acknowledging the ongoing challenges of “tariff terrorism.” He emphasized that India should not allow itself to be exploited by foreign entities and must strive for self-reliance.
“India should be independent. On one hand, tariff terrorism is going on, and on the other side, India has become the world’s largest market. And we have left it to be robbed by the foreigners. Our Prime Minister, and all our cultural, social, and religious organisations are calling for protecting our nation by going ‘swadeshi’,” Ramdev stated in an interview with PTI.
He further encouraged consumers to make swadeshi choices for their Diwali celebrations, from the diyas and lights to the gifts. Ramdev confidently predicted that a widespread adoption of the swadeshi movement could accelerate India’s development, potentially making it a developed nation well before the 2047 target.
Delivering a strong message to the global community, Ramdev declared in Hindi, “Bharat ko aankh jo dikhaega, uski aakhein hum nikaal lenge,” which translates to, “Whoever dares to challenge India, we will remove their eyes.” He stressed that this patriotic sentiment is crucial for upholding the respect of ‘Bharat Mata’ and safeguarding the nation against “foreign conspiratorial forces.”
Shifting focus briefly, Ramdev also commented on the Bihar assembly polls, stating that every political alliance has its own strengths and that democracy allows everyone the right to contest. He specifically noted Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the NDA’s greatest asset in Bihar.
