Ayodhya is gearing up for its ninth spectacular Deepotsav celebration, with plans for 22 impressive tableaux set to showcase the state’s progress and rich religious heritage. This year’s event promises to be particularly grand, as the Information Department will present 15 tableaux focusing on the accomplishments of the Yogi Adityanath government.
Adding a spiritual dimension, the Tourism and Culture Department will contribute seven tableaux inspired by the epic Ramayan. All 22 of these artistic displays are being meticulously prepared at Saket College. To further enhance the festive atmosphere, a vibrant array of folk arts and dances from various Indian states will be featured, contributing to the overall splendor of this renowned festival of lights.
According to Santosh Kumar Dwivedi, the District Information Officer, the Information Department’s tableaux will illustrate the state’s advancements in key sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, tourism, and cultural development. Meanwhile, the Culture Department’s tableaux will bring to life the seven chapters of the Ramayan – Balakanda, Ayodhyakanda, Aranyakanda, Kishkindhakanda, Sunderkanda, Lankakanda, and Uttarakanda – narrating the life of Lord Rama and imparting the profound lessons of the epic.
Ayodhya itself will be transformed into a city of lights, illuminated by millions of lamps along Rampath, Bhakti Path, and other prominent locations, as it aims to set another world record. The event is anticipated to attract a large crowd of locals, devotees, and tourists from both India and abroad.
Adding to the cultural richness, this year’s Deepotsav will feature captivating performances including Haryana’s Phaag, Kerala’s Kathakali, Rajasthan’s Jhumar, Punjab’s Bhangra, Odisha’s Sambalpuri, Ghazipur’s Dibiya, and traditional folk forms from West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh. Over 500 artists are expected to mesmerize the audience with their talent.
Organizers, represented by Vivid India, have also stated that the tableaux will bring attention to significant state initiatives and projects, such as the Prayagraj Mahakumbh, Kashi Corridor, Ayushman Cashless Scheme, Defence Corridor, and the ‘Clean and Green Uttar Pradesh’ campaign, alongside several central government schemes.
