Speaking in Kurnool, BJP State spokesperson Vinusha Reddy issued a direct appeal to the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), urging them to stand with the state government’s ambitious development plans. Reddy emphasized that these initiatives are vital for shaping a prosperous future for Andhra Pradesh, calling for an end to political opposition that could hinder progress.
Dr. Vinusha Reddy highlighted the central government’s ambitious vision to position India as a global leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI). She underscored that this national objective naturally designates Visakhapatnam as India’s premier ‘AI City’ and aims to establish Andhra Pradesh as the leading AI hub in Southeast Asia. Reddy noted the significant strides made by the Centre in nurturing the AI ecosystem, pointing to the ‘India AI Mission’. Initially launched in March 2024 with a budget of ₹10,371 crore, its funding was dramatically increased to ₹20,000 crore in September 2025, a move she described as a clear testament to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering dedication to transforming India into a global AI powerhouse.
A groundbreaking announcement from global tech giant Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company, further solidifies this vision. They plan to establish their largest AI Data Centre outside the USA right here in Andhra Pradesh, committing an astounding investment of ₹1.3 lakh crore over four years. Reddy proudly stated that this state-of-the-art 1 GW Compute Centre will feature an advanced undersea cable network, connecting 12 countries throughout Southeast Asia and firmly placing Visakhapatnam on the global digital stage.
Reddy proclaimed this as the largest Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) ever secured by Andhra Pradesh, attributing it to a year of tireless collaboration between Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s central government and the NDA administration in the state. She emphasized the project’s immense potential, projecting the creation of approximately 1.8 lakh direct and indirect jobs and cementing Vizag’s reputation as a world-class AI innovation hub.
Addressing recent criticism from Karnataka leaders regarding Andhra Pradesh’s success in attracting investments, Dr. Vinusha Reddy advised the neighboring state’s Congress government to introspect. She suggested they focus on resolving internal issues like high taxes, inadequate infrastructure, and growing industrial dissatisfaction. Reddy condemned the use of terms like ‘parasite’ or ‘scavenging,’ and calls to ban organizations like the RSS, asserting that such rhetoric merely reveals intolerance. She urged them to prioritize good governance and infrastructure improvements within Karnataka instead of disparaging other states’ advancements.
Finally, Dr. Vinusha Reddy challenged the YSRCP’s alleged dissemination of misinformation concerning state investments. She directly questioned their stance: ‘Is the YSRCP truly against new investments in Andhra Pradesh? Are they opposed to Vizag’s emergence as India’s AI Hub? What is former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s official position on Google’s monumental ₹1.3 lakh crore investment?’ Reddy pressed for clarity, urging the YSRCP to publicly declare their support or opposition to these transformative projects.
