The Andhra Pradesh Class-IV Government Employees Association has issued a strong appeal to the state government, demanding the immediate fulfillment of promises made to its workforce. They warn that failure to act promptly will leave them with no choice but to launch widespread protests.
During a statement released on Sunday, October 12, S. Malleshwara Rao, the Association’s State president, and Thota Chennappa Naidu, its general secretary, voiced grave concerns regarding the government’s persistent delays in meeting the employees’ valid requests. They highlighted the tragic fact that numerous retired individuals have died without ever receiving their due gratuity, leave encashment, and other outstanding payments.
“The administration has notably failed to establish the legally mandated 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) Committee, release overdue Dearness Allowances (DAs), or provide any Interim Relief (IR),” the leaders asserted. “It is profoundly unjust to subject dedicated state employees to such extended hardship and neglect.”
The association further insisted on the immediate filling of all vacant Class-IV positions across government departments and urged the government to outline a clear strategy for settling all outstanding financial obligations. Additionally, to bolster employee representation, the association announced plans to reinforce its organizational framework by establishing new district committees in each of the recently formed 13 districts.
The association’s state executive meeting, which took place in Guntur, was presided over by President Malleshwara Rao and General Secretary Chennappa Naidu. Boppiraju Venkateswarlu, the State chairman of APJAC Amaravati, attended as the chief guest and offered his full assurance that APJAC Amaravati would unwavering support the Class-IV employees in their ongoing fight for equitable treatment.
Mr. Venkateswarlu sharply criticized the current coalition government, pointing out its failure to deliver on pre-election pledges even after 15 months in office. He expressed profound distress over the fact that retired employees are tragically passing away without receiving their earned benefits, and that the families of those who have died are still awaiting their rightful dues.
His demands included the immediate declaration of Interim Relief, the swift appointment of the 12th PRC Commissioner, and the prompt release of four outstanding Dearness Allowances. Furthermore, he emphasized the critical need for comprehensive cashless treatment to be provided under the Employees Health Scheme (EHS).
