The award was accepted by tourism consultant Nishitha Goyal during a ceremony held in New Delhi on Tuesday, marking a proud moment for the state.
Presented by the Global News Network, which instituted the award, Andhra Pradesh Tourism was specifically recognized for its visionary leadership in framing a new tourism policy, expertly guiding investors in destination development, fostering an eco-friendly capital city, and significantly bolstering the state’s economy. Their contributions to India’s broader tourism growth and their impressive success in drawing substantial large-scale investments were also highlighted.
Furthermore, the award lauded the department’s strategic initiatives in positioning Gandikota as a premier destination for eco-tourism and adventure. This included developing essential supporting infrastructure and hospitality facilities, creating new job opportunities, and effectively mobilizing private sector participation through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. A remarkable achievement noted was the signing of 103 Memoranda of Understanding with respected organizations over the past 15 months, a testament to their dedication and a key factor in securing this prestigious award.
