The United Forum of Village and Ward Secretariat Employees announced on Monday, September 22, 2025, that they would initiate widespread protests across Andhra Pradesh starting September 23. This decision stems from the government’s continued inaction on several long-pending issues, despite repeated appeals from the employee body.
In an official statement, Forum State Chairman Md. Jani Pasha, Secretary General Vipparthi Nikhil Krishna, and State Convener Abdul Razak highlighted that a formal notice with a 15-day ultimatum had been submitted to the State Director on September 8. However, with no response from either the Department or the State government, the employees have confirmed their commitment to the planned agitation.
The protest schedule includes:
- September 23-25: Employees will wear black badges during duty hours and hold placard demonstrations in front of Secretariat offices during lunch breaks.
- September 26: Similar placard protests will be staged at Mandal and Municipal offices during lunch breaks.
- September 27: Petitions will be submitted at the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar within their respective Secretariat jurisdictions.
- September 28: A regional convention will take place in Visakhapatnam, alongside simultaneous steering committee meetings in all 26 districts, under the rallying cry of “Self-Respect Call.” Employees are also instructed to withdraw from official WhatsApp groups after completing social pension cash withdrawals from banks.
- October 1: Pensions will be distributed by employees while wearing black badges.
- October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti): Dissent will be expressed through WhatsApp status messages.
- October 3-4: Preparatory meetings for Mandal, Municipal, and District steering committees will be conducted.
- October 5: Another regional convention is scheduled to be organized in Rajamahendravaram.
