Andhra Pradesh’s Energy Minister, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, recently affirmed that ensuring a continuous and high-quality power supply for all residents, without imposing any extra charges, stands as the state government’s foremost priority. His remarks were delivered to the public of the Kodapi constituency.
Accompanied by Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha and Social Welfare Minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Minister Kumar officially opened a newly constructed 33/11 kV substation. This crucial infrastructure project, valued at ₹4.5 crore, is located in Turpu Naidupalem village, Tanguturu mandal, within Prakasam district, and was inaugurated on Sunday.
Addressing the assembled community, the Energy Minister highlighted that the new substation is specifically designed to alleviate persistent low-voltage issues in the area. He emphasized the coalition government’s proactive approach to strengthening the energy sector’s foundation across the state through the establishment of modern power substations.
He further elaborated that the substation was completed efficiently within a year. Its operation is expected to permanently resolve the low-voltage challenges faced by several surrounding villages, including Shivapuram, Mallavarappadu, Surareddypalem, Karumanchi, Vallur, and Vasapallipadu, all situated in the district.
The day’s events also included the three ministers and local representatives honoring the legacies of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao (NTR), and former Minister Damacharla Anjaneyulu by paying floral tributes at their statues located at the village entrance. Following this, foundation stones were laid for internal CC roads and drainage system upgrades in the SC Colony, a project estimated at ₹2 crore. A plaque was also unveiled to mark the construction of a ₹50-lakh compound wall for the local Zilla Parishad High School.
During her address, the Home Minister praised the indelible contributions of the late NTR, stating, “NTR was more than just a name; he was a powerful force who pioneered numerous transformative reforms in the State. It is imperative that the NDA alliance remains in power for at least two decades.” She further criticized the previous administration, noting, “The people of Andhra Pradesh witnessed the damaging governance of the YSR Congress. Even during their tenure, legal actions were initiated against a modest local leader to target Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.” She concluded by assuring the establishment of new police stations within the Kondapi constituency.
