Good news for aspiring legal professionals in Andhra Pradesh! The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has officially reopened the admission process for the A.P. Law Common Entrance Test (APLAWCET) and A.P. Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test (APPGLCET) for the upcoming 2025–26 academic year.
APSCHE Secretary B. Tirupati Rao confirmed on Sunday that the admission cycle will kick off on October 21. From this date, all registered candidates will be able to actively choose their preferred colleges and courses through the online “web options” system.
Here’s a quick look at the updated timeline: You can submit your web options on October 21st and 22nd. Should you need to make any adjustments, October 23rd is designated for changes. The much-anticipated seat allotments will be released on October 25th. Once allotted, students are required to report to their assigned colleges between October 27th and 29th, with classes officially beginning on October 27th.
However, the Council has highlighted a few important institutional updates regarding the counselling. KMR Law College and Rayalaseema Law College in Chittoor have been included in the counselling process due to recent court directives. It’s crucial for applicants to note that both these institutions currently lack approval from the Bar Council of India (BCI) and do not have university affiliation. Therefore, any admissions to these colleges are contingent upon the final court judgment and subsequent BCI approval.
Furthermore, if you’ve already made your choices, the Council strongly advises candidates to review and revise their web options, especially if they had previously selected BEST Private University, Anantapur, or M.P.R. Law College, Srikakulam. The statement explicitly clarifies that BEST University does not possess BCI approval, while M.P.R. Law College is currently without both BCI approval and university affiliation. Prospective students should consider this carefully when making their final selections.
