In a crucial meeting held in Vijayawada on Sunday, Moncho Ferrer, the dedicated Programme Director for the Rural Development Trust (RDT) in Anantapur, met with IT Minister Nara Lokesh to seek urgent intervention regarding obstacles impeding the NGO’s vital operations.
A primary concern highlighted by Ferrer was the increasing difficulty in securing foreign funds, a critical resource for RDT’s initiatives, largely due to complexities surrounding license renewals and related regulatory issues.
Minister Lokesh responded positively, assuring Ferrer that the government has already initiated discussions with the central authorities concerning foreign contributions. He emphasized the government’s proactive steps to ensure RDT’s services can continue without interruption.
Furthermore, Lokesh conveyed the administration’s intent to formulate and implement long-term solutions designed to permanently alleviate the systemic issues affecting RDT. He extended a full assurance of cooperation to Ferrer.
With the Minister’s assurances, Ferrer was informed that the Rural Development Trust is expected to resume its comprehensive range of community services in the near future, bringing relief and continuity to the populations they serve.
