Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has issued a directive to all ministers, urging them to orchestrate a massive outreach effort. The aim is to conduct 65,000 meetings and various programs across the state, dedicated to informing consumers about the advantageous GST 2.0 reforms by October 19th. This initiative, dubbed ‘Super GST – Super Savings’, seeks to ensure every household understands and benefits from the GST rationalization.
During a recent review meeting with the Cabinet Sub-Committee, CM Naidu emphasized the crucial action plan to deliver these GST benefits directly to the people. Officials confirmed that initial awareness programs, highlighting significant GST reductions on a broad range of goods and services, including daily necessities, are already underway. Further, targeted, sector-specific campaigns are scheduled from September 30th to October 19th.
The Chief Minister specifically recommended tailored awareness drives for the agricultural community. This includes organizing tractor rallies and demonstrations of farm machinery to showcase how GST reductions can positively impact farmers. Additionally, he suggested that exhibitions by organizations like APCO and Lepakshi should prominently feature MSME products and underscore the reduced GST rates.
To engage the younger generation, Mr. Naidu advised ministers to hold competitions for students, fostering understanding of GST rate rationalization. The extensive field campaigns are set to conclude on October 18th, paving the way for grand shopping festivals and cultural programs in all district headquarters on October 19th.
Finally, he called for widespread media coverage, utilizing radio, television, print, social media, and cinema advertisements until October 19th. Government offices are also instructed to display hoardings, ensuring the public is fully aware of the GST rate cut “bonanza.”
Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand and other senior officials were present during this crucial meeting.
