Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for an immediate and thorough investigation into two separate, concerning incidents that recently occurred in Kurupam and Anantapur. He has directed officials to compile and submit detailed reports promptly.
On Sunday, October 5, 2025, Chief Minister Naidu convened a meeting with Tribal Welfare Minister Gummadi Sandhya Rani and other senior officials to discuss these events.
During the discussions, the Chief Minister specifically addressed the situation at the Kurupam Tribal Girls’ Gurukul, where multiple students reportedly fell ill. He sought an update on the steps being taken by the district administration and stressed the critical need to ensure proper medical attention for all affected students.
Following the Chief Minister’s directives, Minister Sandhya Rani is currently visiting the students receiving treatment at Visakhapatnam’s King George Hospital. She also informed Chief Minister Naidu that tribal welfare officials, alongside the District Collector, are closely monitoring the condition of other students admitted to Parvathipuram hospital.
Furthermore, Mr. Naidu also conferred with Minister Sandhya Rani regarding the tragic death of an infant at a child care center in Anantapur. The Chief Minister has unequivocally instructed officials to conduct comprehensive inquiries into both the Kurupam and Anantapur incidents and to present a detailed report at the earliest opportunity.
