During a pivotal meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday, the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet granted its approval to 13 important legislative proposals. These proposals are now slated for introduction in the ongoing Monsoon session of the State Legislature, marking a significant step towards various state-level reforms.
Among the most prominent approvals are a comprehensive plan for Building Regularisation in urban areas and the A.P. Land (Conversion for non-agriculture purposes) (repeal) Ordinance, 2025. Additionally, the Cabinet cleared the way for three new Bills from the Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Panchayat Raj, and Revenue departments. These Bills are designed to simplify land conversion processes, thereby fostering non-agricultural activities such as industrial growth and urban development across the state.
Further ratifications include a Bill focusing on aquaculture development and another on Goods and Services Tax (GST). A notable amendment to the A.P. Prevention of Begging Act, 1977, was also approved, aimed at removing outdated and discriminatory terminology. The Cabinet also endorsed a proposal concerning the appointment of qualified individuals from various categories, including sports, into government employment roles, reflecting a broader commitment to inclusive growth and opportunities.
