Get ready for a warmer November, Andhra Pradesh! The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that both minimum and maximum temperatures will be higher than usual across the state.
This forecast, released on November 1, 2025, for the entire nation, highlights that most regions, including Andhra Pradesh, will experience elevated minimum temperatures. Interestingly, the previous winter in the state, typically from December to February, also saw unusually warm conditions.
Despite the warmth, the IMD anticipates normal to above-normal rainfall for Andhra Pradesh as part of the Northeast Monsoon. However, significant rainfall is not expected until November 7, with only isolated thunderstorms possible in certain areas.
Understanding La Niña’s Influence
The IMD also noted the presence of La Niña conditions in the Equatorial Pacific Ocean and a negative Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) in the Indian Ocean.
Global climate models indicate that La Niña is expected to persist through November and December 2025. Concurrently, the negative IOD conditions in the Indian Ocean are projected to gradually diminish in the coming months.
