The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly is slated to hold its sessions for a total of 10 working days, concluding on September 30. This extensive schedule was determined by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), led by Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu, following a meeting on Thursday, September 18. During this meeting, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) presented a comprehensive list of 18 subjects for deliberation, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also proposing nine important issues for discussion.
Thursday’s proceedings kicked off with a focus on the Goods and Services Tax (GST). Finance Minister P. Keshav highlighted the positive impact of the Central government’s decision to reduce GST slabs, emphasizing how this move is expected to lead to lower prices and provide substantial relief to citizens. Following statements from several legislators, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is anticipated to deliver a speech, expressing his appreciation for the Central government’s initiative.
The legislative schedule includes a detailed focus on various sectors: Friday will see discussions on vital water resources, followed by debates on law and order on September 22, health on September 23, and industries on September 24. Subsequent days will cover specialized topics such as Super-6 on September 25, Quantum Valley on September 26, and logistics on September 27. The sessions will then move to Swarnandra vision on September 29, concluding with a discussion on regional development across Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra, and North Andhra on September 30.
It has been decided that the Assembly will observe holidays on September 20, 21, and 28. Daily proceedings are scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Chief Minister Naidu has specifically instructed all ministers to ensure their presence during both the Question Hour and Zero Hour. The BAC meeting saw attendance from key figures including Chief Minister Naidu, Legislative Affairs Minister P. Keshav, Government Chief Whip G.V. Anjaneyulu, Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar (JSP), and P. Vishnukumar Raju (BJP).
