Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed strong optimism on Friday during his campaign in Bihar, predicting a significant victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the state, potentially the largest in two decades. Shah also emphasized the unique ‘four Diwalis’ that the people of Bihar will be celebrating this year.
He elaborated that these ‘Diwalis’ represent the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the transfer of ₹10,000 to ‘Jeevika Didis’ by the NDA government, a reduction in GST, and the forthcoming election results on November 14.
Amit Shah Commends Nitish Kumar’s Leadership
During his address, Shah lauded his NDA ally and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, stating that Kumar has successfully eradicated ‘jungle raj’ in Bihar over the past 20 years. Shah also asserted that the current NDA government has effectively addressed the issue of migration from the state.
Highlighting the developmental strides made under NDA rule, Shah remarked, “So much infrastructure work has been done in Bihar that it doesn’t even take five hours to travel from one corner of Bihar to another. This development has been achieved collaboratively by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.” He contrasted this with the past, mentioning that “migration, extortion, murders, and kidnappings were common” before their government took office.
Shah also sharply criticized the opposition alliance, comprising the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He claimed that during their previous tenure, “terrorists used to play Holi with bloodshed.” He further stated, “But when the Pahalgam terror attack happened, under the leadership of PM Modi, the Armed Forces, through Operation Sindoor, eliminated the terrorists and destroyed their sites.”
Additionally, Shah targeted the RJD for fielding Osama Shahab, son of the convicted politician Mohammad Shahabuddin, in the ongoing elections. He questioned the RJD’s commitment to Bihar’s security by giving tickets to such candidates. Osama Shahab is contesting from the Raghunathpur assembly constituency in Siwan.
The Bihar assembly elections are scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with the results to be announced on November 14.
