In a powerful symbolic gesture, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday, October 13, inaugurated the new headquarters of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) in Amaravati. This significant event, steeped in Vedic tradition, saw the presence of Union Minister of State for Rural Development Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development P. Narayana, local MLA Sravan Kumar, and crucially, the farmers who had generously provided their land for the capital city under the innovative land pooling scheme.
During his address, Chief Minister Naidu reiterated his administration’s unwavering dedication to safeguarding the interests of Amaravati’s farmers, promising that no individual would endure hardship. He formally delegated the responsibility of resolving farmers’ concerns to Ministers Narayana, Chandra Sekhar, and MLA Sravan Kumar, adding that any unresolved matters would be personally handled by him. “I will soon convene a special meeting with the farmers who sacrificed their lands. Their contributions will forever be etched in our memory,” he declared.
The Chief Minister proudly reminisced about Amaravati’s land pooling model, hailing it as an unparalleled global success. “The credit for that remarkable achievement belongs entirely to Amaravati’s farmers,” he emphasized, projecting that those who once dismissed the capital as a barren expanse would now witness its spectacular transformation. “We are committed to ensuring that farmers who faced disrespect in the past now receive double the recognition and benefits they truly merit.”
Envisioning Amaravati as a self-sustaining, high-tech capital, Mr. Naidu announced ambitious plans to develop the city into a ‘Quantum Valley.’ This initiative will run parallel to the emergence of other advanced technology hubs like Visakhapatnam, slated to host a significant Google Data Centre. He drew a parallel: “Just as Hi-Tech City once propelled Hyderabad into a global technology powerhouse, Amaravati is now poised to spearhead Andhra Pradesh’s quantum and AI revolution.”
He passionately underscored the sacred and immutable foundation of Amaravati, recalling the profound ceremony where soil and water were gathered from temples, mosques, and churches across India for the capital’s groundbreaking. “Every single day, I offer my prayers to Lord Venkateswara for Amaravati’s prosperity,” he shared with deep emotion.
Concluding his impassioned speech, Mr. Naidu called for a united front, urging all stakeholders to “collaborate for Amaravati’s comprehensive development.” He framed the inauguration of the CRDA building as “the pivotal first step in Andhra Pradesh’s renewed journey of growth.”
