Alappuzha Beach recently transformed into a hub of community spirit and civic action, celebrating Gandhi Jayanti with the grand finale of the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva 2025 Swachhotsav’ program. This impactful event also marked the conclusion of the district-level folk campaign for the ‘Yuva Jagaran’ project, uniting residents and officials in a shared commitment to cleanliness and social awareness.
The day was packed with engaging activities designed to inspire and educate. Highlights included the formation of a vibrant human chain by dedicated NSS volunteers, enthusiastic municipal officials, and diligent Haritha Karma Sena members. Participants collectively took a solemn cleanliness pledge, committing to uphold hygiene in their surroundings. Adding a creative touch, the Karunagappally Naattarangu group performed a compelling street play focused on HIV-AIDS awareness, while a signature campaign encouraged public commitment. A lively flash mob by NSS volunteers brought energy and excitement to the beach, contributing to a memorable ‘NSS Kartavya Week’ celebration.
The program was formally inaugurated by Peeyush P., a prominent youth officer from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Alappuzha Municipal Chairperson K.K. Jayamma presided over the event, underscoring the local government’s strong support for these vital community initiatives.
