Veteran actor and former Union Minister, Konidela Chiranjeevi, has officially filed a complaint with the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police. The complaint targets various websites accused of producing and distributing explicit videos, which feature his likeness through artificial intelligence and manipulated images.
According to his statement, numerous online platforms are actively hosting and disseminating highly offensive content, falsely portraying him in explicit sexual scenarios.
Following this serious complaint, the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police have initiated legal proceedings. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act (Sections 67 and 67A), the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (Sections 79, 294, 296, and 336(4)), and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986 (Sections 2(c), 3, and 4).
Officials have confirmed that a comprehensive investigation is currently in progress. The primary objectives are to pinpoint those responsible for creating and publishing this illicit content, identify all websites involved in hosting or circulating the AI-generated material, and work collaboratively with various digital platforms and intermediaries to trace the original source of these uploads, ensuring their prompt removal.
