In a touching tribute to the backbone of the construction industry, 350 seasoned carpenters were honored in Vizianagaram on Wednesday during a special Carpenters’ Day celebration. Senior executives from Action Tesa, alongside representatives from Sivva Jagganna Chetty Hardware Company, hosted the event to recognize these skilled individuals.
During the event, Y. Janardhan Reddy, Deputy General Manager of Action Tesa, spoke passionately about the ‘Tesa Salaam’ initiative. He emphasized that this annual program is dedicated to acknowledging the often-unsung dedication of carpenters to the construction sector. Sivva Narayana Murthy, Chairman, and Sivva Jagan, Managing Director of Sivva Jagganna Chetty Hardware Company, also highlighted their commitment to the community, mentioning various welfare initiatives designed to support veteran carpenters who are no longer able to work.
Mr. Jagan further extended his gratitude to Action Tesa for their significant investment of ₹1,150 crore in establishing a new plant in Rambilli, Anakapalli district, expressing optimism that this venture would open numerous employment avenues for the youth of North Andhra. Vasupalli Samuel, Action Tesa’s Area Manager, announced that the company plans to conduct monthly workshops and training sessions to ensure carpenters remain updated with the latest advancements and techniques in the wood industry. Carpenters attending from various parts of Vizianagaram district conveyed their deep appreciation to both companies for their generous recognition and ongoing support.
