A powerful alliance has been forged between Aavishkaar Group, a prominent fund management platform, and Jamwant Ventures, a dedicated venture capital firm. Together, they are introducing a groundbreaking fund worth ₹500 crore. This strategic collaboration, named OneAavishkaar by the Aavishkaar Group, cleverly combines Aavishkaar Capital’s extensive institutional knowledge and solid fund governance with Jamwant Ventures’ deep industry expertise and practical operational insights.

Navneet Kaushik, the visionary founder of Jamwant Ventures, revealed that the fund aims to back 20 to 25 promising companies. He explained, ‘Our primary focus will be on slightly more mature businesses, but we’re also keen to support seed-stage ventures.’ Kaushik mentioned that teams are already actively assessing potential startups. The fund is currently in the launch phase, with SEBI filing anticipated by the end of the current month. If all approvals proceed as planned, investments are set to commence early next year.

Tarun Mehta, Partner for Funds & Strategy at Aavishkaar Capital, confirmed Aavishkaar’s presence on the new fund’s investment committee. He stated, ‘We will provide comprehensive support to Jamwant, covering aspects like due diligence and exit strategies. Navneet and his team possess exceptional talent for identifying and executing promising deals.’

Jamwant Ventures stands out as a specialized investment firm, exclusively dedicated to fostering innovation within India’s crucial defence and deep technology sectors.

Building on a proven track record, their inaugural venture, ‘Jamwant Ventures Fund 1,’ successfully channeled capital into high-potential startups that align with India’s national security imperatives and goals for indigenous development.

Both firms anticipate ‘Jamwant Ventures Fund 2’ will revolutionize the landscape for defence and deep tech startups. This new fund promises not only crucial early-stage capital but also a powerful support network, including strategic partners, pilot opportunities, and vital policy connections. Startups can look forward to customized assistance designed to help them scale commercially viable solutions rapidly, leveraging profound sectoral expertise for accelerated growth.
