The skies over Mysuru recently came alive with a magnificent display of precision and grace, as five ‘iron birds’ from the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Sarang helicopter display team performed an exhilarating rehearsal for the much-anticipated Dasara Air Show. This awe-inspiring demonstration added an extra layer of grandeur to the city’s ongoing festivities.
A thrilled crowd gathered at the Bannimantap Parade Grounds to witness the short yet intensely exciting event. Cheers erupted as the vibrant helicopters swirled, glided, and formed intricate patterns, leaving trails of colorful smoke across the blue canvas above.
The Sarang team, established in 2003, serves as a proud ambassador for the IAF, showcasing the nation’s aerial prowess and technical excellence. With over 1,200 displays across more than 385 venues nationwide, their mission extends beyond entertainment: they aim to inspire the youth of Mysuru, encouraging them to consider a fulfilling career within the Indian armed forces.
While Thursday’s event was a successful preview, the main Dasara Air Show is officially scheduled for Saturday, September 27, at 5 p.m. Organizers have promised an even grander spectacle this year, elevating the traditional Dasara celebrations to new heights. Please note that entry to the final show will be restricted to ticket holders only.
