A woman originally from Old Malakpet, Hyderabad, currently living in Canada, has made a heartfelt appeal to the Telangana government. She is seeking their help to locate her husband, Mujamil Gulab Nayak, who she states left for Germany without her knowledge and has not been in contact.
Shabana Nasrin Ahmed brought her distressing case to the ‘Praja Vani’ program, a crucial grievance redressal platform operated by the Telangana government, hoping for an official intervention to trace her missing spouse.
Her plea quickly gained attention. G. Chinna Reddy, Vice-Chairman of the State Planning Board and the official in charge of Praja Vani, escalated the matter by writing to Seshadri, the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, urging immediate action. Following directives from the Chief Minister’s Office, the General Administration Department’s Women’s Welfare Section promptly forwarded the details to the Indian embassies in Germany and Canada, as well as to the Ministry of External Affairs.
In parallel, the Additional Director General of Police for the Women’s Welfare Section was tasked with conducting a thorough inquiry into the disappearance. Officials confirmed that these vital steps were initiated and completed within just four days.
Mr. Reddy later received an official communication from Shiva Lingayya, Joint Secretary of the General Administration Department, confirming that all necessary actions had been taken. The woman, a mother to a four-year-old daughter, requires her husband’s signature for essential documents, including her daughter’s Indian passport application. The Telangana State government has publicly committed to providing unwavering support and is actively working to locate the man and ensure justice for the family.
