Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy recently announced a momentous decision: the approval of 2,838 new homes for underprivileged families in SPSR Nellore district. This initiative, part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) 2.0, comes with a substantial government subsidy totaling ₹70.95 crore. Impressively, 251 of these homes, supported by a ₹6.27 crore subsidy, are earmarked specifically for the Atmakur constituency.
During a press briefing on Tuesday, Minister Reddy detailed the financial structure of the scheme. Each household in urban and suburban areas of the district will receive ₹2.5 lakh for house construction. This generous sum is a joint effort, with the Central government contributing ₹1.50 lakh and the State government adding ₹1 lakh to each beneficiary.
He highlighted that the sanction orders, issued via GORT no. 65 on September 16, are a crucial step towards fulfilling the housing aspirations of 40,410 families across the urban areas of Andhra Pradesh. The Minister urged all eligible poor and middle-class families to seize this incredible opportunity to build their dream homes.
Minister Reddy also extended his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for their pivotal roles in ensuring the sanction of these vital housing projects throughout the state.
